been thinking...

Post by twilightprotege » Sun Feb 07, 2010 8:16 pm

so my girlfriend keeps on having a go at me because my RX keeps on having issues. i keep on telling her it's because of the ea82 (of course lol) and that when i go ej20 it'll be fantastic.

but she keeps on having digs at it, so i've been thinking of doing a car swap for a series 1 forester.

but before i jump off the deep end, is the forester as good off road as the L? i mean i like my RX. it's unique and turns heads. goes everywhere i've pointed it so far and i like the idea of having a not-so-expensive car for offroading - you're less likely to cry over a scratch. but the forester has advantages. obviously it's newer, so less likelyhood of rust and stuff. more parts available? better suspension (and options)? then there's the disadvantages - money to outlay, and for that money i can EJ20T and get my bigger tyres and the RX will be sweet as..

what is everyone's thoughts?

Money to outlay is getting less and less for Foresters. You can get early GT's for very cheap now, and EJ20turbo with them :P :P

Show her what you are made of and stick with your L and finish what you started. Otherwise there must be a Forester owner willing to take her on ..... :)

and now i'm thinking forester again...

abs and airbags is a big bonus (ie the limited version), wagon is goodd too. ability to fit larger tyres without cutting is handy as well.

grrrr.

Go the RX with EJ20T - I reckon you'll love it! I know the EJ22 is a great upgrade from the NA ea82!

When I read the thread title my immediate thought was - Did it hurt? :p

My 2c. Let us know what your better half has to say ;)

Cheers

dont worry wilbur - you'll get first option if i do sell it :)

and yes it did hurt! :(

will wait a while to see how if a decent foz comes up - want the blue one, well the way better half does.

hopefully tonight the RX will live again - the NA MPFI engine is in with the turbo bolted on! (wouldnt start yesterday due to flat battery and me not lining up the dizzy correctly)
