I was taking my beast up a mountain test drive again and held it in 5th up the 3km drive, 230m rise in altitude on a hot day, as it dropped due to hill load below 2000 I got a backfire probably due to the heat of the day, the air charge, the load putting all systems under extreme load I got the backfire which blew the intake alloy tube loose enough to loose my gas vapour and stiopped eventually.Turbo did not get a chance to cool. Now have a turbo whistle on start up until op temp.......might just have to kill my Brumby EA82GT idea, stick with the L sedan and go LPG vapour injection to avoid this potential hazard in future should components give up. A mate has landed a Chinese LPG vapour kit for less than a third of what others sell for in Australia. Wait to see results.
