Aem uego wideband

Post by SCOOBIDOO » Sun Oct 25, 2009 10:54 pm

Recently i could not help myself and bought 2 aem wide band uego kits
view here.
http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory.aspx?CategoryID=67
i bought the white face analog versions due to not wanting a digital epileptic nightmare attached to the dash. if you seen the digital ones fired up youll know what i mean.

i run 12psi on my ea-t and always wanted to know where my afr was at this level of boost

we got the kits and i compared them against a quality shop gas sensor, the AEM is accurate.

Idle was 14:1 afr so i adjusted the afm so it read 14.5:1 ok all good
So with this i went for a cruise......what i found was very surprising.
low throttle positions made for around 13.5:1 afr
back off fuel cut attached reading was 18:1 as you would expect...no fuel..

7.5psi WOT afr 11:1 / mid throttle/cruise @ 100km/h 12:1 + variable with throttle position
12.5psi WOT afr 11:1 / mid throttle/cruise@100km/h 12:1 + variable with throttle position
15 psi WOT afr 11:1/ mid throtttle/cruise@100km/h 12:1 + variable with throttle position

my set up is 1 brand new ea82t with new turbo
3 plug flapper ecu
not its not stuck in limp mode
with most discrimination triggers not attached including closed loop no top gear trigger
manual/auto trigger attached

Some may want to disagree with these readings, although they are correct and this is what i found.

Thats not as rich as i was expecting at WOT, and it seems very consistent for changes in boost. I would have expected 10s even 9s

As for your mid throttle cruise, shouldnt it be going into closed loop o2 sensor feedback mode and giving you 14.7:1?

anything richer than 11:1 for a turbo car is too rich....
As stated above i dont run closed loop......cruise is variable, from light throttle yes its at 14.5:1 to 12:1 depending on throttle position.
and mid throttle from say cruise speed like 100km/h ranges from 12:1 - to 14.5:1 maybe i wrote it a little unclear...interesting though.
