1988 Brumby Upgrades

Hello everyone,

I have just picked up a 1988 Brumby images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif for use as a run-around and farm vehicle. I have a few questions regarding some fixes I need to apply...
1. The seats are shot and I don't want to pay $400 to get the original seats re-trimmed. What seats will fit from later model Subies? Are there any seats in particular to avoid? I don't mind making new seat mounts, so long as the seats fit properly afterwards.

2. I need a bullbar, and as I plan to use the Brumby on the farm, I'd like a rollbar too. Does anyone have any for sale?

3. The EA81 is getting a bit old. Is it worth re-building this motor or will a later model EJ engine fit without too much trouble?

4. If I keep the EA81, any idea as to how much they cost to rebuild? I'm not after a performance engine - reliability is the key. What are the simple and most cost-effective mods available? I'm thinking of upgrading to electronic ignition - is this worthwhile?

5. The suspension is a little worse for wear - it just managed to get through roadworthy, but the front and rear shocks will need replacing, as do the front CV axles (as per usual!). Any suggestions as to what decent, long-lasting shocks are available, and decent suppliers of CV axles?
Thanks for the help,

E
