The Lion ...
Good find there - like he description :
How much do you reckon this will go for ?
Cheers, Bantum ...
The word "Leone" is Italian for lion, and make no mistake, this beast is king of the jungle.
Legend says that during the mysterious 1980s, while the human race were distracted watching Top-gun and adjusting their legwarmers, Subaru were breeding a lion. In 1982 this Leone was born.
Before the lion came to us, it was hibernating. The car was given and extensive and expensive air-conditioning replacement and began to roar once more.
This lion boasts:
-A streamline 2-door coupe body.
-Just 75,000 km on the odometer from new (owned by an old lady before us, who was clearly as busy as a one legged man at a bum kicking contest).
-Power steering (wont be sweating like a bag full of cats at a greyhound meet when you go to parallel park).
-1.8 litre 4cyl boxer motor (goes like a cut snake).
-3 speed automatic (because any more gear would frankly be excessive).
-Gorgeous yellow paint (bit 'how ye goin', but looks alright).
-Velour interior (pwoooah! Luxury!).
-All the gauges one could safely read while driving, (oil gauge needs sender unit to work again)
-Air conditioning cold enough to freeze Douglas Mawson (google it).
-Rear demister looks a treat, but doesn't work.
-The odd dent or scratch, and small rust spot on drivers pillar (see photos).
-All the charm and character of a chrome bumpered car.
Having been in the family just 6 short years, regrettably, it is time for the lion to move on. He is being sold complete, with no roadworthy or registration,
and we would like to see him go to a good home where he’ll get some good exercise, not just to someone who only wants him for his body.
Pickup is from Toowoomba Queensland, could be delivered locally at small extra cost.
An inspection can be arranged for those who clearly have a keen eye for classics.
It would not take much to see him on his feet and chasing zebras again. If you have the heart to wake a sleeping lion, this car is for you, happy bidding
Attention melons and muppets please read carefully henceforth regarding eBays listing rules:
-Bidding starts at 99c, 1 bid will buy, bid to buy not to look.
-The buy it now price disappears after the first bid as per eBays listing rules! so don't ask to buy it now after there is a bid, just throw yer hat in the ring, we're not playing for sheep stations here.
How much do you reckon this will go for ?
Cheers, Bantum ...

Willy, have you bought a car from http://www.goo-net-exchange.com ? (From your comment in the FF-1 thread I got the impression you might have)... I was wondering if there was a way around the cars they say are "domestic only"...

235000 kms never been on beach, one owner, weberized, Imac condition, was for sale by a car dealer who was asking $2000 but wait for it, it was $2000 neg, so I asked him via phone what was the best he could do and he came back straight away and said $1600, needless to say I now own a Schmick 93 L Series, would have paid $3000 for it..

It is so amazing how photos can either do a car justice or quite the opposite, well gotta tell ya the car dealer had the last laugh, car looks imac in pics but I should have seen the rig before paying by credit card over the phone.
So what was so wrong with the wagon, well it has a Exhaust / Vac leak somewhere and the weber looks as if the wrong adapter plate was used and I have bits of gasket overhanging everywhere, the paint is peeling in massive chunks, good ol liquid paper to cover up blemishes.
On the up side I think is the car has only done 238000, mind you saying that the dash looks as if it has been replaced from another vehicle as there is sun bleaching in front of the dash but schmick as on the actual console, C.V's look great, looks as if the timing belt has been done recently and a new water pump.
All in all I spose it is worth $1600 but would have offered $1000 if I had only seen it first.
Here is another on gumtree Perth for $1200 neg and only 119000 on the clock

Cheers
