i broke the pto drive in one of my pump trucks on friday. snaping one of the unies in 2 .
the main prob being the alinment and size of the unies.
so in an efort to solve the problem i changed a couple of things and shortened the driven shaft . and used the old unies out of the brumby (they were going to make me wait a week for sutable ones from melburne). geting one end machined to suit the pto flang . and on the other and gary (my lathe man ) made a new flang with a bush to go over the shortened shaft.in between he fitted triangle tractor pto spline like material .
after laying in the mud with rain on me i oxyed ground cut and wire brushed the shaft .fitted the new pto shaft .then the big test .started it engaged the pto and hey presto beter than new. no vibs from idle to working revs .
just like a bought one . thanks mr subaru
big smile now
now to get the mini tanker up and running using the brumbi motor .pics to come. and build pics of brumby rebuild
