You gotta ask how can a 2007 Forester be pinched with all their security measures in place and the owner retaining their keys?

Was talking to a 2007 Forester owner who had their turbo jobby pinched from the driveway (watch out Thomas - your neighbourhood!! ) without even guard dog growling (asleep in bedroom). Turned out that cops were tipped off that one thief was attempting to on sell the Foz to another thief. Vehicle was found around the corner from tipped off ons house. No damage to locks or ignition. Insurance company did not wanna pay up on whatever costs associated with its temporary loss as they felt the owner must have had something to do with its AWOL. However the police had some contact with former guest of her majesty who reckoned simple equipment could confuse anti theft devices in many a car.

I guess if you know, don't share it here, but has this happened to other Subes?

This is why that electric fence ribbon wired from an ignition coil and woven into the drivers seat is a good idea, imho.

so it would pay to continue to share some info with those locked up for car theft [share their info, not your own!] This Foz was taken from a rather affluent area and found in a rather effluent area

If I told you how to steal a forester I would go to jail.
