Pom thinking of buying a brumby
Pom thinking of buying a brumby
Hi fellas,
Im based in the UK, thinking of buyin a Brumby for a little project. One of me mates dads has offered a 67,000 mile (105,000kms) 1994 model to me for pennies. I also work next door to an EJ engine specialist, they also do most of the VW beetle EJ engine conversions around the country, so pretty handy really. Anyway, i just wondered if im being foolish thinking of doing it. Can they handle the power? Are the parts for them fairly easily available? Are there any parts like brakes/suspension/ seats that you can use off the other more performance orientated Subarus?
Im chuffed ive found this site with you guys, no one really knows about these cars/trucks over here.
All the best
Mark

Certainly they can handle the power, EJ engine into Brumby is incredibly common. It's best to back it up with good brakes and suspension - this goes without saying for any car getting a higher powered engine slotted in. Obviously depends on how much power your putting it, ie turbo or not.
Very good that you have an EJ engine conversion specialist so available, if they've done lots of VW conversions I'd say they would have done a few to older Suby's too.
Go for it and have fun!

Re-read his post....I don't think it has a EJ engine yet.AlpineRaven wrote:Which EJ engine is it?
