Gabriel shocks ?

Post by TW83 » Mon Apr 13, 2009 6:30 pm

Hi,

I have got a pair of Gabriel Red Ryder rear shocks that I took off the 83 wagon because they were too short and clunked on bump, or rebound (cant remember which!). They have 2 numbers on them "733637" and "C3022". I am trying to find out what they are meant to fit but cant find these numbers anywhere on the net. Any suggestions ?

not sure about the part numbers, but gabriels are notorious for failing. Theyre a really a shit shockie! go kybs if your gabriels are shagged.

I have already fitted KYB's but the Gabriels are near new and I would like to sell them if I can find out what they were 'supposed' to be fitted to. They are definitely shorter than the KYB's as I do remember putting them side by side.

The funny thing is - I've came across to a few Gabriels which is re-badged KYB! a few years ago..

Suggestion:

Throw them away. I don't think anyone will want them.

I think you are right. Gabriel advised that they suit Brumby, MY, etc but I know they are too short and would feel bad about selling them to anyone. Anyone want them for a trailer, etc (postage cost only) ?

I had two back gabriel struts in my corolla - both failed within one year of STREET driving.

How ridiculous is that. Never getting them for any reason ever again.
