18" wheel Help!

Hey i'll begin by saying hello to everyone as i'm still new to the forums.
I have a black 2004 Impreza RS Wagon and i'm looking at upgrading to some 18" from the boring 16's. I've done quite a bit of research but am still undecided on what tyre size to go.
I would like to go to a bigger profile tyre so its a little cheaper and dont have to worry as much about potholes. Also with plans on lowering the car in the future I'm after something that won't scrub
