I am wanting to the lift of my 93' L series by 1/2 to 1 inch in a cost effective way. At the moment i have 14" sunraysias with mud & snow tyres that hardly ever scrub however i would like to increase the ground clearance slightly I'm a student so $$$ is not great but i'm looking for a good alernative to a body lift-anyone got any ideas or tried anything similar?

Actually, a susupension lift of any magnitude will actually decrease your off road ability by reducing the down-travel in your suspension. Less wheel-travel = crap offroad. In a Subaru, you've got bugger all to sacrifice.
In addition, your CV joint life can suffer drastically; you'll end up spending what you would have on a body lift on new CV joints.
My advice (and others will concur) is save your money, buy a body lift. For $500 . . . that's 2 CV joints!

thanx mate i've actually got heavy duty shocks on the rear and they work fine so far-got them for $50 off ebay and all they needed was a spray of paint! But i get what you mean about those CV joints-i think i'll start saving for that lift kit. By the way, i recommend All West CV Joint service centre in penrith-recently got new boots on the front CV's and it cost just $88! there number's 47 314 758 i think
