I have recently found Aussie Post has a 1200mm limit on parcels it will accept.

I have a few items [ like an L Series RX rear sway bar ~1400mm and a rare -as rear cargo blind ] that are over that length and wonder who has used what service to shift stuff. Some have shown interest but the PO is the problem

EDIT : after vincentvega s comment

some freight companies will charge rates that seem priced way out of a normal persons budget compared to postal rates - unless you have a trading account with them.

Pack & Send will handle them but can be very expensive. Try SmartSend.

Try Smart Send http://www.smartsend.com.au, I have found them to offer more reasonable prices than Pack and Send ,Smart Send's focus is purely on low volume users.

I used http://www.greyhound.com.au once, great price but took their time (just over a week from WA).
