Note - RS scoop on an L series requires signifianct more fab work to be done (hence why most opt for a WRX item = much less work required). It is possible though so good luck with it.

he could just get one of the fake ones that just get stuck on and doesn't do anything.

I think you can buy them from auto parts stores

standard wrx scoop is too wide to fit on the middle bulge of L series bonnet. I got this one off ebay, saas brand. much narrower, plastic, cheap.

Or you could forget about the bonnet scoop and go for a snorkel

From what I've read this scoop will be only cosmetic right?

nah not just cosmetic. im thinking of modifying the intake, but then again i like swimming with my scoobie... hmmm... snorkel...

i dont want one of them pvc pipe home made jobbies for a snorkel... noone makes them, do they? the standard nissan one is prefab and all nice, where the snorkel i seen on a subi was horrible...

The patrol scoop looks awesome. I've got one lined up for the brumby. I can't wait to see the finished result with the new paint and the scoop.

I wouldn't go that far, it looks better than most scoops on a L but still looks a bit fugly to me. I am heading towards putting a waic in instead partly so I no longer need a scoop and can have standard clean lines.

I considered the waic option and would probably prefer it but with the a/c condensor already in the front with the radiator I couldn't figure out were to fit the core. The intercooler seems like a cheaper, simpler option at this stage. Besides which, the idea of a scoop on the brumby has definitely grown on me.

is there a way to make an ej22 matless with the scoop as the intake point?

Much the same issue.

I have seen the RS scoop into a L bonnet, and yes looks very nice...the owner was a panel beater by trade so therefore easy for him.

BTW R1173 - what is the origin of your username? Into R12s as well by chance?
