Removal of dust deflector

On our MY06 XT, a "dust deflector" was fitted by the dealer. Not the spoiler - this is a dark tranparent plastic deflector, designed to flow air over the rear window and remove / prevent dust build-up. I've never liked it and want to remove it. It is held on by 2 clips on the far edges and some double sided tape along the top edge.

My concern is removing the double sided tape without damaging the paint work. Should I pull it, try to cut the tape or treat it with something like eucalyptus oil to soften / breakdown the adhesive? Or should I just take it to a panel beater to remove it?

Any comments appreciated.

It should be fine to take off yourself, Use some fishing line and a bit of prepsol to help break down the adhesive take your time and you will be fine.
