Bumpity-bump bumpers...

Finally getting around to making up Ross's new rear bumper and tyre swinger. Got a few more of these on the books to make yet, and a bullbar too...
You can see by the cars in the background that we mainly work on MY Subies.

thats a nice looking rear bar you have there, good to see your still hard at it guys.
if I still had a MY I would be after one of them bars to.
looks like the tyre swings from the left side, and number plate on the right?

Did you fold up some sheet or start with a piece of RHS?
What wall thickness is it?
All this fabrication makes me curious what others are doing.

Fabrication, fitting and adjusting is all finished. Ross just has to paint the swinger now, as we ran short of time Friday arvo.
This is the cam that guides the swinger when it's open. Works just like the doors do.
The cam runs on the bar in the bottom of the hinge tube, while the adjustable wall in the side of the tube removes unwanted movement.
Here is the electric release lock, entirely my own design, and gets refined further each time I make one...
