Hi there jan,

i have a question for you if thats ok,graeme has two brumby utes one i drive mostly but the other has been lifted and has bigger tyres on it plus power steering etc, my question is the brumby i drive has no power steer and is not lifted, i cant stand driving the lifted brumby as i feel it seems to float all over the road its quite a scary feeling especialy on corners does your lifted lib feel like this when you are driving as graeme has said well get on here and ask jan what his does or if it does.no hurry in your answer cheers mrs dibs

hey mate, I've got a lifted brumby with no power steering and it doesn't float all over the road.

check that the front sway bar is still connected, my sedan is a bit floaty due to no sway bar.

Also check you suspension hasn't gone all soft and saggy.
'91 brumby, EJ-Turbo with VOSChip, 2" lift, 15" superlites, Dual Range AWD.

'93 Subaru Legacy, 2.2 auto, automatic seatbelts, LHD.

Check the wheel alignment. If the Toe-in is actually "toe-ing out" at all the car will wander.
The Caster will also make the car feel light if it is set wrong. Its like the shopping trolleys who's front caster wheels go all over the place, they are hard to control and just want to go their own way bumping all the other shoppers on the way through.

sorry guys but mrs dibs cant get out of one car and into another withoiut complaning . she thinks they should be like a rolls royce.
yes it does wonder a bit but being a driver driver it dont take to much to get used to.you do have to think about driving .my operator drives it 75 ks a day and never complanes.but its free to him
she drives the rex then the ruffy then the std bruby the vortex and expects them to be all the same . they all have diferent characteristics. we discuss this all the time but she dont get it . ithink its just an excuse to drive the rex more lol

this is guna cost

But i do recall you telling me to get on here and ask jan does his float all over the place and so i did, anyway i would like to say that yes it does float over the road as our operator said it does as well ?. but thats cool ive driven worse and dont ever lt me see you in MY WRX again lol

If an MY wanders then it is usually the radius rod rubbers. Replace them and it will steer like a new car. Cost about $50

I hope I'm not outa line but the last time I saw something like that on a forum (not this one lol) the "2" people where really just 1 person.

Beerwah has a jewelers? I didn't even know they had even discovered electricity there yet. I suppose they have split the beer atom though cause I have seen plenty of drunks there

yeah we are most definetly not one person gees that is pretty weird ,why would anybody want to do such a thing?? i find that outrageous i also find the story of how beerwah has a jewellers quite funny cos yes it does, its got lots of shops now i moved here five years ago from port mcq nsw , we had everything there, the first thing my daughter at the time just finished primary school in nsw said was wheres maccas and i was like ummmmm and then it was well wheres kfc and i was then once again like ummm
gees hate to burst ya bubble love but there are no takeaway joints whatsoever here in beerwah we even do have subway since then .But yes we are civilised lol, by the way we just had three of our windows smashed last monday and loads of gold chains ,and rings ect taken, was a bit of a shock?. so i was on the news and in the sunshine coast daily bit of a celebrity now lol . oh well we will get this figured out somehow with the floating car lol , thanks guys for your help ill have to get the dibs on my side and agree first that yes it does float too much over the road.we will see huh

Just a thought maybe your used to the rex with a lot stiffer suspension and a lot lower to the ground?

Like the other boys said there not normally like that:confused:

Has Dibs taken a large insurance policy out on you;););)

Sorry personal experience there. It was my ex and it took me months to figure it out. Jekyl and Hyde character and all that sort of thing you know.

ah ok that explains it. I haven't been through there in over 4 years. Coming from Port Mac must have been a real shock for them, the denizens of Beerwah that is.

I hope you and Mr Dibs can sort your differences soon cause there is a Subie in need of TLC and a job is always easier when all agree ;)

we both went for a drive in the ruffy today. we went downto cabulture through elimbah. round a couple of roundabouts .now i know what she means
when you go around a roundabout it dips to the left and on the od tyre or roud groove it wanders a bit .i just put itdown to a lifted worn suspension with 26s .

i just had a look under the front and in the workshop book and to my supprise/shock theres no sway bar . and to me there was never one.cause if there was whoever took it off did a dam good job ov remeving the brackets of the bottom controll arm.

so ok i admit it i shoulda looked first but i actuauly thought the hand brake cable was the sway bar . thats how much i spend under my cars . (they dont earn us money so i only fix whats broken) and they dont break much. and just having a quick lookover at service time i did think the brake cable was it .

yeye i know what yous arethinking what a dik head

whell now i gota fix it so looks like both bottom controle arms sway bare and brackets . 1 question where does it mount onto the xmember .my thoughts is to the bolt that hols the steering rack .any other place it goes.

so if you live around se qld and got what i need ring me 0421865633.
were on the sunshine coast

why would you take it of in the first place is there some reason with the 2 inch lift

thanks for the imput guys

now i gots fix n she mite go to the cape in it lol

Don't ya just hate it when you find out you were wrong!

In all seriousness though I find the best barometer for a car with faults is a female drive., Us guys just keep driving and then think its normal but they don't.
