Hello.
You may or may not know that Paul and I have an ongoing agreement to swap a US hatchback for a trans and bullbar. In the meantime, I got to modding the hatch to save him some trouble and to keep myself busy while the Mother in Law was here.

Here's the hatch. Not bad for 206k miles on the odometer eh?
Mods:
Custom 4/3 SJR lift.
5 speed dual range trans swap.
XT6 clutch kit.
Custom driveline.
New struts and shocks.
Weber 32/26 carb.
The wheels and tires stay here with me.

I recently scored a turbo Brat with a 4 speed manual swap with only 91k original miles on it. Got a sweet deal, plan to sell it and profit. Peppy little ride.
I pulled the brush guard (trashcan deflector) off and painted it to match the hatch's wheels. If you want it, you can have it Paul. I figure since you threw in the bullbar in our deal, I can throw this one in. If you've got other plans, I'll pull it back off. Lemme know.

Looks pretty tidy. The wheels and tyres really set it off

Nice! Guess who's going to be hanging around the workshop more often, Paul? hahahah
That Brumby looks great in green. I think I'll paint mine a similar green to my outback (when I eventually get it).
Those hatchies are nifty little things. I'm imagining one dropped on it's guts with an ej turbo in it, taking on the boy racers in their little mazdas and hyundais. ahaha!

Linkage is ready. WRX shifter and a Hurst wannabe for the 4X. Turned the 4speed boot inside out.

I got it pretty much finished! Needs the idle adjusted down a little, maybe a wee bit of a tweek on the timing and it will run perfect. Started up no problem, three cranks on the starter! Ran like it had been a daily driver instead of sitting for the last 3 months.
It's only got Fwd right now, just needs the carrier bearing mount welded up and it will be done.
Sighted!!!

The car mags used to advertise $3000 each with them doing the brokering aswell, But They must be getting harder to find in the states too. I saw one in a front yard in Omaha and that was it!

Ya know, I don't know. . . You'd have to ask Paul. I do know that it's the same cost to ship 1 as it will be to ship 2. He also bought another car that will go in the same container.
If you need parts, you should speak up, I can load it up with stuff. I work at a Subaru only Junk Yard starting next week. . . They have at least one hatch there.

A buddy just gave me one, it's a good little runner with only 157k miles, just needs a muffler and a door. I have 2 in my possession right now. There are 2 mint 2wd ones in the local craigslist for cheap. They pop up a lot still. We're in a rust free area, they tend to last.
As Paul's looks these days. Runs like a dream. Very fun to drive.
Seen with my imp with its snow tires on.

+1 in Adelaide.
Is owned by a guy in the club - has been painted, repainted, various engine / gearbox combos over the time I've known it. It started its new life probably 10 years when rescued from a wrecking yard as a 1600 FWD.
He'll never sell!
