First Subaru L Wagon 498000, loved that car until a ford wagon rear ended me and pushed me into a BMW, very sad day, drove this one back from Cairns to Adelaide without a hiccup, unfortunately the rear tailshaft was disconnected so couldn't play with the hi/lo range gearbox. Second L Wagon 445000 which I had for 8 years and never serviced, as it was pretty tired looking, I did buy 1 spark plug for it, just sold it couple of days ago and bought a 96 Liberty GX Wagon 304000, love this car, so will regularly service this one.

Thread “revival (maybe??)” - Ruby Scoo now on +530k km.

She’s still going well. Head gaskets were done in 2013/2014, gearbox rebuilt 2015 (from memory) and an easy-west road trip to Perth completed in the summer of 2015/16.

Brumby is at 262k km (I think). It gets daily usage while I dream of off-roading Ruby Scoo more often

Cheers

Bennie

My Subaru Outback 1997 has about 330k km on it. It is 110k km overdue for its major service. I am struggling whether I should drive it to the ground, and expect in about 40k km that the timing belt will break, and wreck the interference engine. After which I will buy a newer car. Or, should I pay $1.5k for the major service now, and drive it another 20-30k km before I buy a newer car knowing in comfort that it will not break under me ? The car had the head gaskets changed in 2012.

2010 Outback, 197,000km on the clock. About 400 of them are mine. I'm not sure if the major service was done at 192,000 though.

My first brumby I got ~ 1998, had 9,000km (farm only) miles on it: sold it in 2001 with ~ 50,000km.

Wife's GJ impreza (2014) is just coming up for it's 92,000km service (I service every 6,000km religiously).

My red brumby.... dunno, I'll have to check that out.
