I want to bring this topic up about your Subaru - How many kms does it have on the clock?

I'll start with mine, Its 1996 Liberty GX wagon, 5MT AWD now at 284,000kms, compression is very good & doesn't blow smoke at all & going strong - will last for long time!

Cheers

My first L wagon had 410,000kms by the time the firewall rusted out.

Too many motors, clutches and shockers to count - diff gearbox was about the only things not replaced over the years.

Miss it

93 Liberty AWD A/T
Has just clicked over 312k.
Going through its history, seems to be all the same engine, box n diffs.
Shocks were swapped to coil, and just recently I've replaced the coils to outback coils.

*It seems to continue to go strong too!

Before I retired my RX turbo it had done around 675,XXX Kms. 2nd motor & gearbox, 3rd clutch.. Body rusted through on most of the major joins so it has been retired....

Holy shit! Some of those figures are more than the average life of a Taxi Cab. Also shows the superior build quality of Subaru engines.

1989 Subaru Leone GL, FWD, EA82 5MT: 200,500km. "Dormant"

1991 Subaru Liberty GX, AWD, EJ22 5MT DR: 176,500km. "Working Project"

Spose if i where to ever sell the Liberty Wagon ever, it would featch for a bit with the low kms on it.

Yeah, if they havent been heavy footed and pushed around, well serviced then they do last forever.
I've seen Subarus (from MY - L series to Liberty/Foz/OB etc) over 500,000 under 700,000kms but havent seen over 700,000kms to a million.

I've got "a huge" 156,000km's on a '92 L wagon, Dual Range, Manual, bushes and CV's are the only thing that's been changed me thinks, it's been babied all it's life.

my brumby is 100k's shy of 370,000. Original engine and g/box. engine leaks oil and g/box is noisey but other than that it is fairly good.

334,000km on my 1993 L. Dunno how much is original.

A mate's 1984 L is nudging 380,000km, with the original engine (including heads). He reckons he can feel it losing compression every day.

Ruby Scoo - 1988 L wagon - original gearbox, rear diff just swapped for a welded item... 370,000km with the following changes:

Original carb '82 was seriously cooked by previous owner - cracked heads and cylinder!

Converted to MPFI '82 by myself, while in the process of this found out about this website (and the EJ options...)

Rebuilt a second MPFI with new piston heads/rings/oil pump rotors and seals/gasket kit. Shaved heads and a now dodgy paint job.

That lasted 9 months before the radiator let go and cooked that engine.

Now running an '84 carb model EA82 all jerry-rigged into the EFI system to work. Got an EJ lined up for it.

Rear bearings are REALLY SHAGGED!!! Front one's are probabily not that far behind. The rear left moves a good cm or two on the outer edge of the tyre when jacked up off ground, rear right is not as bad as this - got replacement items to go in next week.

Rear suspension bushes will be replaced next week too.

And due to lack of lift + the new welded rear, the floor pan is looking like a piece of "art" :???:

Cheers

177k on my Brumby...everything was original afaik when I got it with 158k on the odometer, the MPFI box in it I have no idea on the km's done but I'd expect at least that much as it wasn't in great condition. New clutch, water pump, and gasket set when the box was changed, and it's used a few litres of oil since.

wanky has 340k on the clock, but hasnt had a speedo since i lifted it, so add another 25-30ish, and its had 14s on it since new, so she really has almost 400k on the body.

turbo motor has about 95k on it. Nothing on this car is original except for the body panels and interior. I tell ya, she looks pretty sweet still!! :)

liberty has 120k on it, pretty piss weak haha, but it is only a 2001.

Bought an 84 sports wagon with 460000 on the clock, got it to 530000 when I sold it, almost killed it but not quite. Ran straight 60W oil = no smoke.

Was air cooled a few times as the digital dash no work too good, if it started to ping heaps then it was time for some water.
