3 Engines On A Trailor

Post by SUBANOOB » Mon Oct 20, 2008 7:20 pm

I was driving home the other day when this bloke pulls up next to me and say has that thing got turbo? No. He says follow me. We drive to his shade sail shop and in the back is a trailor with a 2.ltr ej twin turbo:twisted: a Vortex motor & gear box and :twisted:turbo plus computor ( this he offered to me for $200 ) and a ea 81 with gear box.
I was a little bit:???: who's missing an engine:D
he says he has had them for years just sitting there.
Let me know if this sort of thing has happened to you..

surely it's not that amazing, a vortex motor&box isn't worth really very much, although $200 is still a bargain....

The motor is worth nothing. The box would or could be the interesting thing. Possibly a constant dual range.

Was he selling the TT motor too?

yer well i think 200 is a bargain, its worth something if you want it. Subafury just sold his without even a gearbox for $550 i think.

Yeah it is. I was just saying that in the day and age of EJ an old EA motor is nothing to get excited about any more.

Maybe not for someone of the likes of yourself OB - I'm just getting into the "EJ game" and any cheap bits I can afford are sought after...

My comment about the EA82T was about the gearbox, I have no intention of an EA82T - I'm over the EA82's, namely the pulling down and putting back together process, not to mention the aged weakened threads...
But that gearbox IF its a constant L box, as you know, would be worth about double of the price asked. The other motors if no good could go to scrap...

Cheers

Hmmm... Now re-reading it like that I can see what you mean. That takes a bit of shine off the story :(

Sorry about the poor grama and sentence structures in my original thread.
If he had offered me all of that stuff for $200 I would be looking for a new home, one with a nice sized lock-up garage:)
