Hi, my first post on your forum
A few years back I had a 90 liberty GX wagon and regretted selling. It is now time to consider another subaru and hopefully some members can answer a few questions

Series 2 or 3 liberty wagon? I prefer the looks of the series 2
Old 2.2 v 2.0 v 2.5 are there big differences in fuel and power? reliability?
Auto v manual. I am getting lazy and might try an auto. Is this a bad idea?

Thanks

Go the Manual FULL STOP!!!

But then again, I'm certainly not a fan of the autos...

Happy hunting!

Series 3 is better. Subaru develop their cars. Also you will find Series3's are newer and should have less kms.

2.2, 2 and 2.5 there isnt alot of difference in power, but the extra torque of the 2.5 can be worthwhile. I don't think you can get 2.2 in Gen3. The 2 and 2.5 should be a better choice simply because they will all be newer and with less kms on them.

Auto or manual? List out what you intend to use the car for as this will help alot...

Only plan to use the liberty wagon as a daily driver, odd country drive and occasionally tow the garden trailer. I was happy with the series 1 so I assume s2or s3 would be just as good or better. Thanks for your advice

gen3 is a great car. Much nicer all round compared to a gen2. The autos are ok. Mine's an auto
