Title is self-explanitory, today i found out i knew nothing about car care, or even washing the thing for a matter lol.
Today i was in the "having a go" mood, wanted to do something productive so i thought for the first time id actually wash my car instead of taking it through the car wash at the servo. so i was scrubbing away with the normal foam sponge, and there were all little black dots/stains that it wouldnt lift over and they were plentyful. so i grabbed one of those little sponges you wash dishes with, that has the sponge on one side, and the little green part on the other side.
Well that sure did get it off, the car came up looking sparkly as.......... until the water dried off and now there is patches of scuff marks on the car where ive scratched the duco off.
So long story short, is there anyway i can get this baby back shiny again, will cut & polish do the trick? and if so what do you reccomend to use and how do you do it?
any help would be appreciated. cheers.
Washed my car today, scratched away the Duco.
When i detailed cars for a living , we used a burnishing cream. It is a mild cutting cream . That will bring back the paint , to a point. All depends how deep you have rubbed in down with the kitchen appliance . once you have given it a mid cut , wash the car and dry it , then polish it . If it is done right , the paint feels velvety .
