Another day (yesterday) another battle scar on Ellies mug .
Out yesterday and followed a she person into a one way street where she props . I pull up short ~ 3 meters and to my surprise she starts backing up out of that one way street , I could hardly back into three lanes of traffic so with horn blaring and cake hole bellowing we reasize she is not looking or listening . Ever sat in a car waiting for the crunch knowing there is SFA you can do to prevent it ?
The tow bar equipt Navara twin cab took out my NS headlight bumper bar and the filler piece that fits between the underside of the lighs and grill and above the bumper .
She admits fault and wants to pay damage herself because its dads truck and don't want to dent the excess I expect .
Details were exchanged and off I goes to pass the details to my insurance mob .
Then it's back home for a frantic hour and a bit to fit spare parts to make it look respectable and fit to drive to work .
For all your sakes be very wary about people who would gladly reverse anywhere or launch out of driveways between parked cars . Twice now I have been on the receiving end of people who back up without looking and one where a large type Hiace van lept across the road from a driveway in front of me with less than two car lengths in which to stop - from 50 km/h - didn't happen .
I dunno , what are we supposed to do ?
BTW number plate holes won't take any fasteners I have and ocky straps are hardly legal . Probably have to remove bar again to see whats missing in the way of captive nuts or whatever . Also will have to remove the ns headlight again because its sitting back a little compared to the OS one , not by much but I can see it . Maybe a little more reefing on the support panel end and a few washers to pack it forward will get it looking normal .

Yeah, doesn't matter how much experience you have, there's always someone with less experience waiting to give you some more. What this lady did was an irresponsible and negligent act. Pity she can't be held more responsible and have to complete counselling and more training before going back out in traffic again...
