need a tacho for my brumby

Post by kevmif » Thu Sep 25, 2008 7:56 pm

Hi all,

Was looking at tachos on ebay cause I don't want to spend a fortune. Some cheap ones on there but cheap usually = shithouse so I am a bit weary.

Any suggestions on a reasonably cheap and fairly compact tacho?

An aftermarket tach can be had for as little as $30 thses days unless you are wanting a huge ricey one with features you will never use then get a cheap one they all work pretty well and have a light which is about all you need.

Or you could go the extent of dropping in the "6 guage sports dash" like I did here.

I've gotten a few cheap guages from here, and they seem to work well.

I dont want to mount it on the dash, will try to find a way of mounting it out of the way but still visible - maybe where the old radio was or something.

In my MY I mounted a little 2" tacho where the clock is/was, from memory the tacho was about $30-40 from superchump.
