I'm new to posting here but have used this forum for a while as it has a wealth of information, so thankyou to you all. Now i'm in a quandry, I have a Jap import ea81t sitting in my garage. My options are to put it into my '84 wagon or to pass it on to someone who has the time and know how to give it a better home. I know this motor is rare and I'm wondering if I was to sell it, what to expect as a reasonable price. I don't have an ecu, harness, dump pipe, or the time, so installing it will be a lot of work for me. Most of the efi spagetti has been removed, as I was going to carby it but I still have all the gear.

maybe $200? would most likely only sell to somebody who already has one running in their car and needs a replacement block or some other small hard-to-find parts from it.

wow I must be dreamin! I kinda thought it would be worth more. Perhaps I's better reinvestigate putting a carby on it, and hope it goes that much harder than a standard ea81 with a webber. I'm assuming I can run a webber on the turbo motor as a suck thru setup, will just have to source the parts.

It will be lower compression than a non turbo so don't get your hopes up.
You could fit it to your 84 wagon and use aftermarket management.

yeah...a turbo motor running a carby will be less powerful than a carby motor running a carby....definitely look into aftermarket engine management - might be easier than you think.

If its in good condition it would be worth a bit. All it would need is fuel system and a VERY basic after market ECU and a dump pipe.

That makes good sense, thanks. I'm guestimating, after feul pump, fuel lines, dump pipe, ecu and wiring harness, it will prob cost me $1000 bucks to fit the motor. could spend a couple hundred and put a weber on the existing ea81, and it would go harder than if I put it on the turbo motor. Might sell the ea81t after all.Ill be sure to post it on the board if I do.

Very nice. you could also use the turbo on the carb engine.
