Venting

just needed to vent my anger towards some sad and challenged individual who stole my custom plates today from my car parked in a carpark at midland gate today.
ive had my D3V1L plates for many years now and have not found most of my vehicles worthy of the plates but decided that my recent outback was good enough for them. so i dug them out, got them instated and put them on my car proudly. ive owned 6? cars since i got the set 4 and a half years ago, and havnt been on any of them except my first car.
so now i got no licence plates, and im very angry about it. its not like they can just bolt them to their own car and call them their own, so wtf does somebody do woth somebody elses custom rego plates? ive reported it but the pollice cant do jack shit.
so im up for another $390 for another set of custrom plates and i dont have the money for them. as my rego is due this week and im gonna be struggling to pay for that as well.
and to top off my week i get to work on monday after an awesome weekend away down with the boys at wedge and im told through several of my work mates and collegues that the new construction manager that manages all the company's work doesnt like me and wants to sack me.
so im waiting in anticipation (NOT) for the day to come when im told to **** off because the new manager doesnt like me.
doesnt matter to him that ive been working as a construction supervisor/superintendant for the company for nearly 3 and a half years, and that i have been in the companyt longer then any other worker and have acheived completion of more sites then any other member.
so im gonna have to use my power in the high group of ppl of the company to fight for me so i can keep my job and stay flush, otherwise im gonna be in shoulder deep poop i wont be able to get out of
anyway, ive had my vent....spanx u:(

if it helps at all i dont think new plates should be as much as $390. if you already have the certificate for the D3V1L title. stealing stuff like that is just stupid.
sorry to hear that mate

I agree with that. A new set of plates pressed shouldn't be anymore than $100 - custom or not.
By the way, that's shithouse. I hope the dumb #&$%s stick them up on ebay or something like that

the police say they cant do anything? but im sure you would be the first person they come to if a robbery, hit and run,ram raid, was committed with your plates.even running redlightcameras and speed cameras.
so good on you for letting them know they have been stolen, cause if anything was to happen with your plates on a car,by rights you should be let off the hook?
(is there an insurance company that will cover number plates for things like this?)

Check it right out properly. I think if you fill out a police report then go to get them remade then its either free or alot cheaper. Check with BrennyV as I remember he had one of his plates pinched a while ago.
I know if you lose your wallet and need to get a new one sent out you pay full price. If your wallet is stolen and you report it to the police and get a report number then take that to DPI then its free.

Also wouldn't you be able to claim on insurance, but might cost an excess for making a claim. When one of my Commodore personalised plates got damaged in an accident, hit up our insurance, and got a new set made.

I woulda thort too, that if they were your personalised rego plates that all you should pay is a remake fee of the same. Is 390 what you would pay afresh with new plate choice? If so , 390 is cheap for that sort of plate, NSW used to charge many hundreds PER YEAR to have that sorta personalised plates. They charge $100 per year just have plate like JS 2008 once you have paid for them initially (came into effect a few years ago for new issued plates, not affecting previously purchased plates) It is an extra 60 bucks if the chosen plate is in the normal format but chosen like MY 84 MY or SU 84 RU. Next plates see if you can hook up magnetic reed alarm switches to them and integrate it with your alarm.
Good choice of action with work - don't lick arse

I've had a few custom plates stolen over the years, too. It sucks and costs you money!!
"JOANNA" was pinched from our Pajero at twin falls carpark in Kakadu, "RX" from my RX Turbo in front of my parents place in Gladesville (Syd) and "JN" but not sure where from, as when I finally noticed it gone, my neighbour said he'd noticed it missing for about a week - here in Canberra, though. They were all NT plates, as that's about the only place I can afford personalised plates. Don't think I'll go to the trouble again.

Sons of a bitch, dont those carparks spose to have Security gaurds walking around the car park during trading hours. Someone ever did that do any of my cars i would hunt them down and remove there hands from the wrists down so they wouldnt and couldnt physically do something like that again. Now thats what i called solid Justice.
I would of given you my Leone's old number plates to use them to get from A to B, since i couldnt drive the Leone due to its damage, but the plates got handed in now since the Rego is officially expired. I wouldnt mind restoring that car but i still not sure what to do with it, too many good memories with that car.
But that bullshit you own those plates, the Department of infrastructure and Planning should give you another set of plates free, surely it doesnt cost $390 to fabricate a two new sets of custom plates. They could at least give you some temporary plates to allow you to commute from A to B.

Yup about $80 was how much Bren paid...and you have to purchase a set of state plates for about $12 to display on your car until your new plates are made and available for pick up

i think the place that makes the plate's is in malaga, licsys i think its called, they might deal directly with the public, i doubt it but u never know...
You can get those one way screws, not sure if thats enough for midland folk tho, maybe run an electric charge through the plates...

Faaaaaaarken Hell... what they think you're going to leave your pride and joy in a carpark overnight (or worse, the weekend) until THEY open the next day??
Sorry to hear Dave and hope we can all keep an eye out for your plates. Maybe if someone does see them, I hope they have the opportunity to find out where the wanker lives... then bad things might just come to those that do this shit.
