I recall someone in here once was able to cut some copper head gaskets for Hugheybabes EA81 twin port

I need to make one or more different sized throttle plates and have trouble believing I can do them by hand !

I think aluminium may be used or the usual flat steel plate?

I have a throttle body made by Impco for LPG that was designed for engine capacity larger than my Brumbys 1800cc and it is such a crude fit in the body that air just breezes by the factory plate at idle, giving 1400rpm minimum idle

It is not round, not oval as such with bulging sides, but more like one of those round dining tables that you can extend in the middle and have semi circle at each end. It is experimental so may need a few sizes in 0.5 mm incremental lengths and multiples of in case of MKI, MK!!, oops sort of thing

there a laser cutter here in Adelaide who will cut just about anything to your design.

If you are CAD handy, he just loads the design and material - persto, one gasket. All down via email and Aust Post - too easy!

If you are not CAD handy, will cost more as he will have to do it.

Sven, if that is easy for you to fnd contac email addy if just to find out what equipment he uses to help find someone local who has same equipment/service.
Is he a machine shop , steel fabricator, engineering shop ?

CAD, havent seen that for 15 years, I bet it is heaps more advanced now !

My drawing will simply be width and radius at ends. I should also have confidence i can do it by hand too !

If your in brisbane I have a cnc plasma cutter , I have not cut Alum before but there is always a first time. Plasma is not as neat as laser , but it depends on how thick the material is. If you supply the material I am happy to give it a go.

well, i am not one to know what is best method, but what I need is throttle butterfly made out of a flat metal about butterfly thickness, was thinkng aluminium but maybe not. Rusty, do you think it cuts clean edge lke that need to seal against edges of throttle body perhaps ?

sorry mate , I thought you were after an adaptor plate to go between the throttle body and the intake manafold.
