seen this before??

Post by Alex » Sun Jul 27, 2008 6:38 pm

curiosity made me do it.

picked up my legacy RS turbo frontcut yesterday.

Noticed that the oil filler is metal! some kind of cast alloy. Ive seen just about every EJ motor made, but never this.

Has anyone seen it before? Does anyone know why it would need to be metal?

The very first ones had an alloy filler. If you look under the oil filler cap it will tell you exactly what year it was made too.

Both mine have been plastic, both were made some time in `92 and are supposedly series2. I haven't seen a metal one before - BEEFCAKE!

Maybe it's a freak motor Alex. Knowing you as soon as it is in your car you will be claiming its a freak motor with un-measurable power.

Both mine have the cast alloy fillers, like brett said, the later ones were plastic as were the twin turbo ones.
