I just got a Valve Regrind Kit by Permaseal from AutoOne for about $158 and it was a nice set. It didnt have the EGR gasket tho.

Always with an alloy head if you can is to get a surface skim but in saying that the monotorque head gaskets seem to seal pretty well in a turbo engine so they would certainly be good for a non turbo.

Shaving or a Head skim should be about $60 a head. As for a full recondition I'm not sure.
I've always used monotorque headgaskets, should be about $40 - $50, been a while since I got a set. The main reason for these headgaskets letting go for me are:
- Old threads pulling out after 6 months
- Blowing the side out of the radiator, subsiquently warping the heads
Fun fun.
Good luck with it.

If your head bolt threads are pulling out its generally because the motor has been cooked, re-tempering the block.

Hmmm... This info would have been handy a while ago. Think i'll defenetly go the EJ route.
Is there any way to fix this "re-tempered" block to hold properly again? I've already had some helicoils pull out due to overheating and not being long enough in the hole...
Cheers
