wax and grease remover - the clear liquid looks and smells a bit like thinners, also known as Prepsol. Degreaser don't do stuff all in the clean up of this soap based? gunk

Good Stuff - I was not looking forward to trying to clean all the CV grease that's splattered throughout the engine bay when the 2 cv boots let go.

Is the idea just to put whatever your cleaner of choice is into a pressurised spray bottle and give the engine bay a good spray, let it soak & then hose off?

What are the tricks you guys use? I know I need to cover the dizz before I hit it with the hose in the Brumby but what else should you do in prep to get a good result (easily) without drowning anything?

 Reading back the other replies - I rekon it was the hands they were talking about - hah.

I hear you run a pretty clean engine bay Alex - what do you do after taking Wanky through the mud & dust?

I was talking about cleaning the actual joint and surrounding splatter, the turps breaks down the cv grease, stops it sticking to everything.

I first discovered when cleaning up the under bonnet spatter, but have since used it when rebooting with Oeticker Brand boots, so have cleaned out both the bearing cages, the cups and YES , MY HANDS to , and the bench top. "so that is why my hands feel yucko ?"

after the engine bay degrease spray the bay with your choice of WD40 stuff so the next mud bath washes off heaps easier.

Brake cleaner is usually the best thing on grease and oil but your paint sure as he'll won't like it.
