I posted a message yesterday about putting a 5spd into a brumby but it seems thr one i had got sold to someone else, so if anyone knows of a good place to find brumbys that don't need too much work done on them it would be much appreciated!

Might help if you put a location where you are in your post......
If you are in WA, there are a few listed in the Wanted section as replys to an earlier post in this forum.

thanks heaps for those brumby ads, will look into them, it seems pretty hard to find a good one for the money i want to pay, am looking at aroun $3500, because i then want to put a 5spd gearbox in it which i think will cost about $1500. Hoping to come away having spent around $5000, fingers crossed.

For $1500 that 5 speed better be gold plated AND make a damn good cup of coffee.
I wouldn't expect to pay any more than $300 or at a stretch $500 for everything you need from the donor car then $300-350 for a clutch kit if you need it.
It's not a hard conversion to do yourself, you don't need anything more than some basic tools and a couple of good mates allthough an engine hoist helps.
You may have to factor in additional costs such as a slab of beer or a bottle of bourbon to coerce your mates to help.
Unless your talking about an AWD 5 speed in which case $1500 is probably a fair budget for the conversion but I'd be looking at an engine upgrade first or at the same time.
Jordan.
thanks

hey,
thanks for the info on the gearbox, i am a chippie and really would have no idea where to start if i was to install it myself. Can you recommend anyone in vic or melbourne that is able to do these sought of conversions?
thanks.
