Picked these up on the way home today, looks like my weekend is sorted
$150 each at auto pro, anyone had any experience with this brand? I've got a 36mm socket too, just the ball joints to contend with. I'm hoping these will sort out some of the massive vibration issues in the ute.

Picked up my plated LSD the other day:

My wheel nuts arrived today. They are a custom item with ball seats to fit Audi 15" forged rims onto Subie hubs

15 min later my hubcentric rings arrived, also for the Audi rims

Nice red on the air filter, wish I had a sun roof and I see you too have the pretty much useless roof luggage rack.
I pulled my rack off and am prepared to live with (8) screws in the roof till I get around to bogging them up and repainting.
I am in two minds on if I will also pull the rack strips off the roof too. The could be handy with Rola racks in not dropping stuff onto the roof.
Dont know yet.

Yeah Ive used the roof rack twice to carry a ladder the whole time Ive had the car. Ive also got another frame Im going to put on it at some stage. I prefer the look with the roof rack on the touring model. Sunroof is awesome, keeps the car cool very well.
Ive done a bit more driving with the "new" old airbox now and hot damn! anyone who's running a weber with the standard thin airfilter and tin lid should consider swapping this over. Engine sounds so much better and butt dyno registers a little bit more up and boogie off the line.
Regards
Doug

I would LOVE a sunroof in my FozSubydoug wrote:Sunroof is awesome, keeps the car cool very well.
Have you had your butt dyno recently calibrated lolEngine sounds so much better and butt dyno registers a little bit more up and boogie off the line.
It certainly looks good & I'm sure would help with the engine breathing more freely. Nice job

Hooked up a pair of marine 12V outlets - in the side of the Brumby console, just below the two bracket securing screws. They are both on a latching relay (22AMP factory jobbies of course) to protect circuit from start up spikes/surges . Intention is to run a USB plug in adapter 2.1Amp with built in resetting surge/spike protection. A little momentary on push button switch is used to power up the relay once engine is running. Jammed a little 3A fuse holder in the mix. All the wiring tucks ups natly, with the relay wrapped in foam so no rattles

Not really improving my soobie but today I installed 3 flood lights under the car port, so now I can improve my soobie after dark!

I recently bought 2 of these
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/181112010350 ... 1497.l2649
For this exact purpose. I wanted lots of light but not lots of power draw, since I'd be running 3 lights plus any power tools I might need off of 1 socket. So LED seemed to way to go and they are certainly bright enough, not even the brightest ones. And today when I went to funnings to get all the cable and plugs I saw identical LED units for $99 each!
For anyone who buys these lights make sure you open them up before you wire them up, both of mine the ground wire wasn't connected to anything

ea82 engine install. vacuum diags still confusing. no confidence in progress. extremely rough idle and cherry cat led us to new coil and plug wires(new spark plugs installed earlier). next day, rough idle but cooler catalytic converter. now from cranking(?) oil dripping from? any help would b beneficial.

Today I received 3 big boxes of bits for my wagon, to help keep me cool on those long hot drives home in summer
Huge thanks to Proton Mouse for packing it so perfectly for me, another big step towards making the wagon more like a modern car. Can't wait to get stuck in to this lot.
Having a look at my FSM I realize how crazy complicated the shutter/ducting system is for these things; about 5 different shutters and blinds that open and close depending on dial and vent flap settings
It's like christmas when you get home to something like this on your doorstep

I wonder what this could be

Did my rear wheel bearings today.
Quote for genuine was $540 for both sides incl seals, parts only!!! I got them from Repco for $114 for 2 complete kits incl castellated nuts (with discount) plus $30 each side getting them pressed into the hubs.
Driving home today, I noticed the new bearings were hot, too hot to touch. Is this normal? My front bearings were warm only. What could be causing this?

OK, figured out the prob. I was at my GFs house so didnt have a torque wrench or FSM so didnt know the correct torque. I knew the Libs are done up b****y tight so just did the same, guessing about 220-250 Nm. FSM says 137 ft lbs or 186 Nm for pre '02 Foz, so I definitely did em up too tight.
Loosened off the nuts today & knocked the axles back in a smidge then torqued em to exactly 137 ft lbs. I went for a test drive on the freeway, when I got back they had barely any warmth but it had just hailed! So air everything was pretty cold. I'll try again when it warms up a bit but I think they should be fine now.
Just goes to show...always torque everything correctly!!!
