Look at Bennie, major surgery on the roadside swapping lifters on an EA82, think he learnt pre forum, skills handed down from his elders

Some concerns with EA81s are they are old, and if found to have head studs not removeable due to corrosion, my engine shop cannot rebore, damaged th bore trying. I tossed one block due to this - too costly to repair the M11 threads if at all possible. Second block was same.

EA82 went head bolts and not found screwed EA82 head bolt threads.

On the bright side an EA82 will fit easier than an EJ, stick in the L Series 5 speed at same time - see ? leading you into more trouble :) :)
Even early EJ's are old -1989 !
