I'll try and get some tomorrow - we've got a 95 liberty dual range in the shed at the moment - gearbox split and all. Wish I had an L series low range to drop in ready to go... Ah well

Cheers

waitasecond Bennie!! Isn't this like your second or third dual range EJ gearbox project? I don't even want to talk about AlpineRaven's experience and expertise or how many with dual range AWDs he's had his hands on ;)

I curse yous guys down under!!!!! You guys just have dual range EJ gearboxes laying around and falling out of the sky all over the place!!! ;)

just kidding about the cursing part, and thanks for the info and photos guys, I appreciate it.

But all this research and eye candy aside, would any of you guys be willing to help me get one of those damned dual range AWD trannies to the states? PLEEEEEEASE!!!

please please please please please please please please please please please please??

I'm really keen for a 97-98 fozzie 5MT, but would deal with an OB with 4.11 final drive, or even a liberty with 3.90. I've got EA dual ranges anywhere here for the good low gear set but I just want to get my dirty little hands on a good D/R EJ 5MT!

I recently had a lead on two in Canada, but the guy wanted $1100 CAN for a 3.90 FD, tranny and $1400 for an 04-06 JDM legacy 4.11 FD, both with the weak low gear. But that's just too much $$

That looks pretty good to me d_generate!

Not quite but I do take for granted that we have dual range EJ boxes down here - I think I stirred up a few people on USMB about this :(

I can get a liberty dual range gearbox cheapish ($300) but that would be 3.7 or 3.9 diff ratio. I don't know where to get an early foz box from as they're not showing up in parts yards that i frequent just yet...

The gearbox I split had a few issues, namely the busted 1st gear cog...

Lucky for my mate I've had little gearbox experience so I wasn't worried about splitting this box. Its back together now with another gearset :D

And that leads me to the console pics for the Gen2 liberty. This is from a '95 model:

And the part number:

Hope this helps!

EWWW rip those seats out & hit them with some soap & a high pressure cleaner, they'll come up like new.

Yeah. There was that whole debacle from kiwishooter offering to ship some up from New Zealand, then unfortunately he got reamed a new one from his open generosity to help us unfortunate yanks in the states. :(
bummer for all interested parties here!

While I'd certainly prefer a 4.11 final, I could deal with a 3.90. I'd just need another OB or FOR tranny to make it 4.11 like I want, but if I can get a D/R from down there pretty cheap (like a gen1 or 2 LIB) and freight it up here without spending a fortune, that would be great!

Woah! That looks nasty, I suspect my reverse is starting to look something like that!

And THANKS for the gen 2 LIB console photo, that's exactly what I've been hunting for, and the PN is priceless!! Sopposedly a Suby dealer here can order anything, with a PN, just can't search for PNs beyond Subaru of America. So we might be able to get this plastic up here.

Thanks so much!!
