Didn't take long this arvo and changed the wiring looms over. Solves so many headaches and now the wiring looks nice and neat and everything is operating well. Now we just need the door trims to turn up and we will start installing the carpet, new seats, door trims with the electric windows and a couple other creature comforts inside

Hi Gary, finally took a few pics. The engine bay has been tidied up a bit with only a few items left to complete - the priority now is the cabin interior. Very happy with the way the engine is running, thanks for your help.

Mate that looks epic. Just makes me want to go out & buy a brumby now.

Err...you can't just go out and buy a Brumby like this ... and it is high time I relinquish the award for "cleanest Subaru engine - EA series"

When mine is in one piece and working, so you can call it an engine.

Appreciate the kind words there is a whole lot of our sweat and unfortunately due to rusty wires a whole lot of blood gone it to this build haha.

Here is a pic of the bonnet lining we applied today, we thought it might quiet down a lot of the noise coming from the engine bay and being just a roll of heat proof insulation from Clark Rubber it didn't come with the cost of a custom bonnet insulation.



And with the bonnet closed.

IT IS ON THE ROAD!!!!!! still a lot of finishing work and interior to be installed but we took it for a test drive today and have not been able to wipe the smile off our faces. The gearbox was tight, the engine ran amazingly (big thanks to Little White Ute) and it is just so hard to believe the difference compared to when we first bought it.

Our first point of call was actually your house, we were there this arvo but you must have not been home. We were in a mood to show it off . Definitely a lot of work left to refine it but it drove really well.

Problems
Still an oil leak from the bolt we dealt with last time.
Found out the hard way our diff is a different ratio to the new gearbox. We struggled to get it out of 4WD so it lead to a whole lot of rear wheel spinning action until we managed to get it back to 2WD

What's wrong with the dizzy?

A fantastic build up, you've done really well. I bet the drive is twice as sweet knowing the work that's gone into it

Just read this thread start to now. Congratulations James and thank for sharing. Very interesting.

Colour choice is spot on. Glad to see you stuck with my favourite engine. (I get allergies with ECU's and when I look at fuel injection my prostrate gets bigger).

All in all a great project James.

Updates

You may have all seen my recent thread and how just as the Brumby was put on the road it was smashed up quite severely by a hail storm. (link showthread.php?p=207436#post207436)

So from here we have a lot of work to get it back to it's previous condition. Luckily there are some amazing people on this forum though that have helped out. Scoobie Doobie has sent a pair of indicators cross country to replace our hail damaged ones. I can't thank you enough for such generosity! We may also be able to get some front quarter panels from Green Eyed Liberty, says alot for how great a forum this is.



Just completed the 500km service and it all looks great, no nasty surprises found in the oil and the new ride height sure makes working on the ute incredibly easy.

Bit of a trick radiator cap

So after the devastating hail damage, she is in for another respray and a lot of man hours fixing up the body. The fenders have also been flared, they don't stand out too much in these pics so it will be interesting to see how far they managed to get them out. This paint job is a thousand times better than the previous one and really should make the brumby stand out.









Now all is left is the interior and the bull bar and bumper bars.

Looks awesome mate! Got the anti hail device sorted out "just in case?"
