Advice Wanted: 92 Liberty

Post by Thumpage44 » Wed Aug 06, 2008 8:58 pm

Hey everyone,

Early this year i spent $1750 on a 92 GX Liberty with the intention of 'Doing it up'. Unfortunaly i broke my leg shortly after and havn't gotten quite as far as i would have liked. So far ive only Put on a pod filter and heat shield, Painted parts of the engine, Knocked out some dents and applied touch up paint, rechromed the mags, chromed the front grill.

At the moment im trying to think of cheapish things to do that would improve the health and performance of my car, ideas?

Also im curious how much you would consider paying for a car like this? Considering it has 280,000kms on the clock.

Heres a few snaps i took, enjoy!

Those mags are different , I think I like them.
$2200 give or take a few hundred depending on how it ran, gears etc. I don't think painted parts under the bonnet would do much to the price either ;)
What paint are you using?

Yeah I'd agree with a figure of about 2k but only if it's an AWD model. The high kms is abit of a killer for resale value.
Also in my opinion your painting of bits in the engine bay will have lowered the car's value. Anybody with half a brain looking at it will be able to tell the shiny parts aren't actually worth more than they were before. The Chrome painted oil filler cap looks particularly classy next to the Super Cheap battery :)
