They might get ants in their pants about a turbo conversion. The lift shouldn't be too bad - as long as its legal.

Just Car Insurance don't like me... aparently my car with the mods i have is "make belive" and im pulling the piss by trying to insure it.

I think it was Shannons that wouldn't insure anything if the driver was under 25.

Shannon's, Just car, etc etc.....it's a joke.....

While they will actually insure rare/high risk vehicles its hardly even worth it.
They will insure you're car for an agreed value far below it's actual value. And they will charge you nearly that much each year aswell.

Seriously tho, most insurance companies won't be too worried about it. We completed a full EJ20turbo WRX conversion to my mate's L series a couple of years back. He rang his insurance company to tell them and they said "ok no worries we have recorded the change". He said "don't you need me to bring it in for an inspection or something?". nope.

You must in NSW. You get a blue slip first, then take it to RTA.

You don't even have to be in a car club anymore. I'm fully insured through them and have had no dramas at all including one prang. I will be staying with them for a long time if they keep this service up. They will also insure all mods as long as its legal.

Another thing on price. They are half the price of the other insurance company's and the excess is better than when I was with NRMA.

Are you sure?
hank you for your request for a motor insurance quotation.

We were unable to offer you an automatic online insurance quotation due to the following reasons:

* Performance modification not acceptable
* Vehicle accessories/modifications

Just Car Insurance (a specialist insurance agency of AAMI) may assist you with gaining insurance. You can contact Just Car Insurance on 13 13 26 or http://www.justcarinsurance.com.au.
I realized this about the AA insurance Co many yrs ago, for an insurance co they are a most risk adverse bunch of... Maybe it does give the sheep with standard cars cheaper insurance....any mods at all and they really don't want to know you...steer clear of this mob I reckon.

I am with Justcar insurance.
I have not had one problem.
I first insured my 1989 LX turbo converted liberty with a 2" lift - no problems at all.
Then i had a 1985 Leone Royale converted to an RX with a 3" lift - again no problems at all.
Now i have a genuine 1987 RX turbo with a 2" lift - no problems.

I was only 19 when i got the insurance for my Liberty & i had a small accident, paid my excess no questions asked. The didn't even want to sight the car!

I will be with Justcar for a while yet..... 8)
