Show us the rims so we can make an opinion. If you want to play with colours on the front of your car you can take the Subaru badge off, clean the back of it with some thinners to remove the black and then respray what ever colour you like.

You can also harass the local jap importer or ebay and actually get a chrome grille. Also colour coding around the outside of the grille looks good. Leave the centre part the original colour.

You're best off getting a factory chrome grill from an import. The chrome paint looks good while it's drying, and pretty good for maybe a couple of weeks, then it tarnishes and just looks terrible. Test it out on an inconspicuous part of the car first.

Chrome grill would look great, and really set the car off nicely, if it was really chrome...

Go get someone to chrome plate it properly. Paint is simply just that, it's paint. Paint can look a bit like chrome, but it's not really anything like chrome. Faking chrome is like rubbing melted crayon over your old paintjob to make it look like new paint. Looks ok for a couple of days, but just doesn't do the job in the long run because it's NOT paint, it just looks like it for a while.

Whatever you do though, don't get a coffin fitting maker to chrome it for you. It lasts only about as long as the paint does, as it's only meant to look shiney till it gets in the ground. But then, it depends on how dirty you are going to get your car...
Steve.

as the master of mettalic spray paints....DO NOT DO IT. youll stuff your grille. it'll look shit after one bit of rain. If you try and put a clear coat over it you'll lose the shine. It'll also look tacky.

ps. get sum pics up of the rims and shizz mate ;)

Get a chrome grill of a legacy. The legacy door handles are chrome too if that tickles your fancy...

we get at least 1 customer a week who has done a DIY grill/bumper/bonnet you name it and cocked it up. then its costs $$ to fix or replace your slight savings on a home DIY paint job

I think chrome paint on plastic might look a tads tacky but eh, give it a shot... i did my grill black in a 'hot headed' moment and it muchly looks better then the grey.
