service manuals. what ones best?

Post by subie_1st_timer » Tue Apr 01, 2008 7:39 am

wanna buy a service manual but which one is recommended for the brumby?

ive used gregorys books in the past but sometimes ive used other brands and found some info is better than others so anyone recommend the better one?

if i get one that says subaru 1800 hatch or wagon... this will cover the brumby yeh? havent seen one yet that includes brumbys

want one that shows how to do the wheel bearings as i have a chance now to do them myself instead of the mechanic but, if its a real C**T of a job ill just take it to them... not overly keen on doing the job myself but im just tryin to save a few bucks...

Buy a 2nd-hand FSM (factory service manual), it is a lot better than the Gregory's. eBay or similar have them cheap fairly regularly.

Most Gregory's cover both MY and L series.

Dean.
1989 Brumby - Shiny new red paint, stroked EJ20 phase 2 SOHC with Darton sleeves bored to EJ22, Wiseco high-compression pistons, Delta 2000 grind cams , EJ/XT6 5 stud with WRX 4/2 pots, 5-speed, 86 GTS seats and so much more.
Contact me for reproduction XT6 hubs...and EA82 rear discs.

I prefer the Haynes manuals to Gregorys but cannot comment on the FSM's.
