Four Seat Brumby

Post by 4xsama » Fri Jul 27, 2007 10:00 pm

Found these on another forum.

Funny thing is that until quite recently you were legally able to carry people in the back of utes in WA, or so I was told.

I'll admit it, I'm a forum hussy.

Pretty much ALL the US Brat's (Brumby's) came with jump (rear) seats to get around the US pickup truck duties. I think only the last year - 1987 ? - were sold without.

People riding in the back of utes is not at all uncommon in the US or Mexico - I saw more than a few pickups loaded with 10-20 people in Mexico City a few months back (but not a single Subaru!).

Bringing back an old thread, could you legally do this? With a roll cage and proper seat belts etc?

sort of brings to mind the riddle - " what is the last thing to go through the mind of a bug as it hits your windscreen?" "It's aarsehole"

The weakened roof would collapse in a rollover and probably kill all four occupants. :p

there are certain rules in wa that still allow adr approved seats and restraintes in the back of utes but u also must have an adr approved roll cage....problem is...nobody has an adr approved roll cage for a ute because nobody wants any liability for deap people due to it not holding up!!

I got the idea when i was watching American Pie 2. Sadly they can do all kinds of crazy stuff over there. I'm definitely going to go down to QLD Transport or something with some pictures ideas etc and see if it could ever be done. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

4 seat pick up

Post by Dougie » Tue Mar 10, 2009 5:52 am

Does this help:confused: found this on google images

Image

Škoda Pickup; Felicia Fun (Type 797; 796)

The Pickup went into production in August 1995. This light utility vehicle based on the Škoda Felicia offered a loading area of 2015 cm2 and a higher utility weight (605 kg), thanks to the strengthened rear axle.

Škoda also manufactured the Felicia Fun model, which is best characterised as a leisure time vehicle. If required, the two-seater vehicle with an open bed can be changed into a four-seater by moving the rear wall of the cab.
