What to do?
What to do?
I'm getting confused now. I don't get the chance to go offroad enough so it would be a waste of time doing up the Brumby for that purpose.
I could do up the brumby still as i have nearly enough for a new engine transplant but then id need more for the gearbox to as i don't need the dual range. Or heck i could just wait a while longer and sell it and get a nice looking legacy.
What do you guys think?

I went through this thinking a few months ago and I ended up deciding that I still wanted to drive a ute. Then came the question as to whether I wanted to go off-roading, or use it as a road ute only. I decided to keep off-roading so that lead me down the path of dual range gearbox. (for a while though I did consider doing a single range AWD automatic conversion for on-road use only).
Having seen and spoken to others who have done an EJ conversion in their brumby or L series, I decided that I wanted full-time AWD and upgraded braking.
Spoke to a few more people, looked around a bit more. Thought of different options re engine size and gearbox solutions. Talked to more people again. I then went and bought a damaged gen 1 liberty AWD dual range sedan from the Brisbane auctions with the intent to have its driveline swapped into the Brumby. The Liberty cost me $1090 (including auctioneer's, and tilt-tray towing fees).
The final cost for the completed swap is still to be determined - I need to sit down with the converters and discuss exactly what mods I want done to the Brumby.

Yeah ok I'm thinking now ill just save till I have 3k then go pay SWK and BYB a visit. I'm sure the power weight ratio will tide me over til i'm teaching full time and can afford a WRX. Then i'll have to come to a 4wd club meeting and see if i can get some action with it.
