I just left iinet for netspace.. No problems, and if you get the phone too you can have 1500kbps with 5gig daytime download limit for I think $40 a month.. And they do 6month contracts.

Internode also had some tempting deals.
Oh, and I wouldn't touch bigpond with 10 foot poll.

Ahh, youtube. So much fun.. ok, too late to start surfing youtube

Whirlpool, Australian Broadband News
Click on Broadband Choice on the left, then Plan Search under that.
Once you have a list of ISP's with interesting plans, go into thier forums for feedback on them.

Use broadband choice and specify the contract length, search will give the answers

Internode don't have contracts:

No Contract commitment, a $65 early termination fee applies if service is cancelled within 6 months.

im with aapt too. I found the deal on the whirlpool site mentioned above. For some reason it wasnt on the actual aapt site when i looked tho. so check whirlpool.

deal is (with phone bundled with them):

$49/month
no contract
free modem
free phone transfer (they transfer your phone from your current provider)
512 download speed (not the fastest but certainly fast enough)
12 gig download limit (speed reduced if you go over, not extra fees)

i think its a bit more expensive if you dont have your phone with them, but its certianly worth looking into. I made one phone call and they did the rest, and ive had no problems.

That's right....you get better deal if home phone and internet is all bundled together and all comes on one bill..get savings and no hassles with bills...

I think I'm on about 500 odd kb sec download...I've had no worries with it..AAPT that is but shop around..they all offer bundled packages..

Bigpond were **** to begin with but since then have been smooth sailing. But that is cable internet...
Have heard similar things about AAPT, but again plug all your details through whirlpool before cementing your choice.

After a bit of stuffing around (phone line issues) I will be signing up to TPG for their ADSL2+ 150Gb plan for the measly some of $69.95/mth.

I know they're not the worlds greatest ISP for reliability or support
but I can do that myself, I just want a huge bucket of downloads.

I have been with westnet and optus, they were both very reliable with great support but are a bit over priced and their quotas were inadequate for my needs, but is the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
