Yeah seen it before, but still like to watch (while i imagine one of these in my L... mmm)
90Brumby, your probabily looking at the glow plug/injector setup when you say that you think you can see spark leads... As you can see from the video, this engine is based on the petrol design with a few differences.
I'd really love to see one of these engines in action and give it a test run. i reckon (going by the experience of a mates 1.9ltr turbo desiel VW golf thingy) this would be a great engine that revs freely for a desiel. The VW red lines just short of my L's redline by about 500 revs, not bad for a desiel. and the performance left me stumped. Up against my mums 2003 corrola ascent it would be neck and neck, i'd have my bets on the desiel though.
I'd reckon the ratios in a NA petrol engine gearbox would work fine with this engine... just have to wear out the MPFI first and wait for a wreck i think
