Obviously the thieves know nothing about Subarus , if they did they would have knocked off a WRX. Was there any markings on your car indicating a more powerfull engine?

Condolences sven.
Shannons are pretty good to deal with, no problems when i made a claim with them for malicious damage.
I guess if you see anyone with a big head wound you just follow them home hey. Are the cops sussing out the hospital ER and GP admissions for that night or the following days, coz if they were badly injured (and it looks like they would have been judging by the dent in that good old SA "stobey pole") they would probably try to get some medical attention.
Keep us posted mate.

Condolences also Sven. Did that car used to be owned by a board member that I haven't seen on here for a fair while called Geach? When I saw it on the news I thought it looked a bit like the one he used to own, but it had blue sunny's on it last time I saw it.

thanks guys

Shannons offically wrote it off today - a no brainer...just have to agree on a salvage price.

This was Geach's old car B4 he went to an RS Liberty wagon. Aside from the lift, was a fairly std appearence. The zorst note was a bit sporty which would have given the game way - but no ricer stickers and other such crap that would suggest it significantly modified

As for the 'smacktards' (love that description), no they have not been caught. The police reports state 'a lot of blood', but in reality, probably a nasty facial laceration - face/head lacs always bleed disportionately given the high arterial supply...think of when you cut yourself shaving how much it can bleed.

Not sure from here - I spent countless BS&Ts + hours and $$$ getting that car the way i wanted it...perfect interior, central locking, nice ICE, engine and suspension mods, new wheels/tyres.

not sure if i can do another. Will need to think about it carefully

Sven, I have absolutely no respect for thoughtless bastards that steel other peoples property, I hope the loser that cut him/herself get a major infection that makes him/her suffer for months. The money you have spent to get the car the way you wanted it, the money spent to make you feel proud with what you had , have been waisted by some f/wits who have no respect for anyones possessions , I'm sure that they will end up in prison sooner or later because rest assured car theft won't be the last crime they commit. All the best mate.

it hurts more seeing your pride like this than not knowing where it is, i know as i went through it last year, was 6 months before they found it burnt out. it hurt me more knowing she was dead than being able to think she had become someone else's baby, my condolences to you, buy another and rebuild it, its worth it

know how you feel dude. My lib was stolen after I traded her in and even know she wasnt mine any more I still feel so bad knowing that she was once loved and now is being thrashed, burnt out,re-birthed or god knows what!
I must ring the cops and find out if it has been found.
Hows this for love (or call me nuts) I had to give her a going away lovin via a long session of car polishing just to let her show her true colours to any potential buyers and hope for a good home. two days later after the trade in the car was stolen. I think its an inside job myself! dodgy car yards.
If you run, you will only die tired!!

Q: Dear Wildpussy69. I have a 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo SE. Unfortunately the ashtray is full and it doesn't float AT ALL (not even for 10 seconds). Would you be willing to part trade? I realise you will be wanting some cash on top. Regards. Sven 24-Apr-07

A: Sven - thanks for the offer, however I will have to decline this mediocre attempt at a trade. I know you're trying to rip me off. If you threw in the offer that you would get a real haircut, I might consider it, however, I dont recommend driving accross bass Strait in this vehicle....ever! Cheers

an update...

Post by sven » Sun May 06, 2007 6:46 pm

An update.

Have purchased the wreck back from Shannons. Just spent the weekend salvaging the few good parts left. Motor/gearbox/lift kit left in place for the time being.

Reckon the motor is completely stuffed - probably was running red hot when it crashed. Sump cracked, motor and gearbox ripped from mounts. Suugest the motor's internals are not so good, turbo would be fried, valves bent stuffing the heads

Interesting how stolen cars all end smelling the same...B4 it was stolen, it was immaculate, and only smell being a hint of Polyglaze. Now it smells of a mix of stale cigarettes, sweat and old beer.

So from hear. Will return to build another, 85 touring wagon to the base. Not sure I'll lift this one, do not go hard 4WDing these days, but probably will in the end

SA residents, will part out the remaining car presenting an opportunity for cheap parts - will be on a 'U-pull-it' type arrangement. Car is on axle stands but will require added OH&S precautions if anyone is work under it as it does not sit level...watch the sale section in weeks

will upload some photos next weekend.

and thanks to the board for your support and good wishes - most encoraging

in one way it is good that you the owner decides how the beast is finished off, remove bits you have an attachment to (for whatever reasons)

cigarettes, old beer and sweat smell, blood loss and smacktard - starting to complete the identikit

hotwired, broken locks or common sort of key ??
