Did the police officer check the operation of the indicators like you're claiming?
If you were there first, you've definitely got a case. If you were there 2nd, but can prove through witnesses or the police report that the indicators were malfunctioning, then you've got a good case too.
Apart from that, a partial responsibilty is probably a godd result, considering :?

I definitely wouldn't ge the car repaired, except to do bits that may be unroadworthy (like broken lights). Notify the insurance company & do a temporary fix.
