Self serve wreckers in W'gong area?
Just wondering if any knows of any of the self serve style wreckers in the wollongong area, I know theres 1 in bankstown (I think thats where it is, somewhere in west sydney anyway) but it's a bit far to go with no garuntee of anything worth while being there or if you just want to have a peruse.
There's no shortage of wreckers around here, it's just nice to be able to wander in cruise around and grab stuff as you see fit.
Jordan.

there is none locally that I know of that have a self-serve upfront, but sometimes what works is you feign that you don't know exactly what your after, and they let u go out back for a look around.
Surprisingly PartPlus at Yallah allow that too, and on the rubbish cars out back, u can pullit yourself, u have to check with them first which one your gonna pull off. The cost then is really cheap then, no warrantees etc,etc as compared to buying recycled over the counter where they apparently back it with a 3 (6?)month warrentee.
But no subies last time I checked, about 3months ago...Plenty of near new lazers/commodores etc....but you can't touch those.
Hey Smoov, I like your offer, it would be good to know whats available b4 making the trip to Sydney when I need it, so Thanks
If you ring wreckers ,they either lead you on like they have everything your after, or they are not real sure of particulars.....

Reading your post there fred-sub it kinda makes me glad there's only one wrecker within 50kms.
I've just found that after years of faithful service he leaves me to my own devices and tool bag to scrounge around whatever I want. Although when I removed the charcoal canister from his personal Celica he wasn't really happy. Hey! It was parked in the lot fair and square!!
BTW, there is a fairly complete L series Enduro and a DL wagon down here if anyone needs anything. There's also an EA71 Leone sedan.

I recall a few years ago there were heaps of subarus in the wreckers around Cooma, to be expected I guess...as there a popular car in the area, now thats just over the mountain for you there Muddy, I guess
I think I was after some console switches, but wasn't impressed with the "bargain$" , I guess they could tell i was no local
