efi v's carb questions
would it be fair to assume that a fuel injected L-Series touring wagon with diff ratio they have would be a better driver with larger wheels than a carb version sports wagon. would it be more gruntier and would it be better on fuel? i have the chance of picking up a touring wagon of the same age as my sportswagon and i am wanting some opinions from those that may know
The EFI L-series is a lot smoother, seems to have more bottom end and has better driveability than the carby version, but as far as I'm aware diff ratios should be the same? My GL was a 3.9:1 carby L-series.
The EFI motor in my opinion is much better than the carby one.

Monster Subaru sold to a good home!! Still a Subaru owner. Will try stay in the Ausubaru loop. Sorry

i thought the touring wagons had a 3.9 diff and the sportswagons had a 3.7.
or maybe its the other way around. anyway i had a memory of people saying the touring wagon gearbox and diff was better for cars with lifts and bigger wheels......??
do the efi's return better fuel economy , as a general rule?

The EFI should really come into it's own on really steep ascents where the carby would tend to starve out. when I put the EJ into my MY I parked on a really extreme hill and it sat there idling happily, the ea81 would have died.
