EA81 & EA82 Carby's

Post by Gazza01 » Sat May 16, 2015 7:51 am

Looking for a spare carby for my 90 Brumby with a Hitachi Carby. Have a couple of EA82 Leone's in the local wrecking yard, and just wondering if any of those EA82 Carby's might be compatable with the EA81 Brumby Carby.

EA81s generally had a smaller carb than EA82s, but my 1984 EA81 came with the larger carb like on an EA82, as well as some other EA81s from that year.
I am not sure what later model Brumbys used, but there is a good chance an EA82 carb will fit.
Measure the distance between your mounting studs. The larger carb that the EA82 will have is 45mm x 80mm and the smaller one is about 37mm x 70mm. If you have the smaller one, you will need a carb from an MY.

Someone here will probably know for sure what carb your Brumby has, but there is no harm in measuring.
