Thanks mate, & thanks for showing me how to do it

Also replaced the boot clamp on the rear inner CV. Bit disappointing as it had only just been replaced when I bought the axles but the silly bugger cheaped out & reused the OEM clamps & it started leaking within days

Sealed up some of the holes in the cabin. 1 big one at the front next to your feet & another for the seatbelt recess. Both huge with no restriction to water flooding in. Both now coverd in plastic:

Got this big wombat trip on Saturday but wont have time to seal up both sides, just have to make sure I dont dunk the drivers side too deep lol

Next to be done is Rotors, Brakes and Calipers, also a slight whine in the gearbox might get looked at so might as well get the clutch done at the same time

Cheers

They look great with the extra bit of detail in them. Are they still subie rims or after market?

Lol, I was very happy with a jigsaw puzzle I did. On the box it said 2-5 years but it only took me 6 months to do!

Today I finally corrected my crooked steering wheel that was 2 teeth out on the spline...been like that for months but always too lazy to correct it  Also cleaned it, can not believe how much human slime accumulates on a steering wheel. It's actually quite disgusting when you think about it
Will it ever end!?

In our old Pulsar we had the same thing from the previous owner on the sil of the door where they had always rested their arm while driving! It is very gross!

Made a spare wheel carrier for my Wagon. Now I can fit things under the hood and if I do get bigger tyres at some point Il have somewhere to stick the spare.

Spent the weekend cutting out rust and making new sections around the blanking plates where the rear foglights fit in some markets, came out perfect and needed minimal work to finish, Then again I have been doing that sort of stuff for years and have a folder, Mig and 3 Tigs which helps.

84 Wagon project

Post by MY-Wagon » Tue Mar 04, 2014 3:56 pm

Bolted hand brake cables for liberty rear discs into my 84 wagon.
Removed fly wheel after reading that just using MY large pressure plate and L Series clutch plate won’t last. I need to machine old fly wheel or find an L Series fly wheel. And order an L Series pressure plate. For 5 speed conversion
Does anyone in Brisbane have one {EA82Flywheel} that I could pick up?
Trying to decide if I should redrill top of strut towers to take 3 bolts ‘cause the later ones have a nice bearing instead of grippy bush setup.
Also did a lot of looking and pondering and writing lists of next things to do and solve.
PS Anyone out there got an L Series Fly Wheel?

I have a full '85 L Series that I might part out, EA82, N/A, 5 Speed FWD box. mechanicals are all spot on as far as I can tell/have experienced with it.

Cheers,
Tom.

Got a new exhaust today! :) 2" from they Y pipe back, but also got a new Y pipe in 1 3/4" because why not, it looks nice and shiny  Straight through resonator and muffler as well. It is slightly louder when inside the car than the older stock system, but driving around when you're in the car it sounds almost exactly the same, little disappointed there but if you're actually behind the car it sounds like this (see below) Performance gain? little if any, best part is I can't smell exhaust in the cabin any more! :p Hopefully it has solved that problem.

*Edit* Note the "phwoar!" in the last seconds of the vid...that's mum complaining of the smell  the car is burning a tiny amount of oil and probably also running rich in higher revs due to my piece of wire forcing the secondary open on the carb.

+1 for the boxer sound, Silverbullet :)
Being new exhaust sections, some of the odour will go after a while!
