Now I am prepared for a so far one off event. Once popped a radiator hose, tiny hole spraying coolant about. Ripped out a cruddy old thermostat housing I'll not use again and cut its hose tube off to chuck in the box a bits onboard with a pair of same size hose clamps with idea to cut hose on hole, join it with thermostat bit, clamp it and Bobs your emergency repairman too far away

Good in theory ...

But one of 'Murphy's Laws' would be that hole ends up in the wrong spot - & your unable to splice it in - Doh ...
